This song and “Clover Cage - Faith In The Fire” are the two songs that helped me get through my depression. I just want people to know things do get better. August 2026 and I’m balling my eyes out. 10 years of marriage has me listening to this song with completely different ears. Always appreciate the person you decide to choose and continue to choose them over and over again. That is truly the “real” definition of love.

This song is so special to me. Back in 2004, my mom lost custody of me and my two sisters while struggling with addiction. My older sister and I were placed in group homes while my little sister went to a foster family. I was 11, the middle child, and close to my mom—I just wanted my mommy.

​We had phone calls twice a week where we’d both break down crying. One bittersweet call stands out: She told me that my faith in her was the only thing keeping her going. After a terrible day in court, she was crying in a cab and asked the driver to turn on the radio so he wouldn't talk to her. This song came on. It motivated her to keep fighting. On our call, she played it for me, singing and we were both sobbing listening to it —it was her promise to me.

​When you live in a group home, it’s so easy to lose hope after seeing so many failed stories. But this song gave us hope, and after two and a half years, we were finally reunited for good.

​It means even more to me now because I lost my mother this past April 🤍. Right after she passed, this song popped up on my Pandora for the first time in over ten years. I know it was her way of reminding me she’s still here. I’ll cherish it forever
