Not only one of the best rock songs but one of the best songs ever written. All the right conditions were aligned when Tim and the band created and gave this song to the world. I kind of feel sad for the people who will never hear it.

She looked up at him from the paper and she knew that it was over.. She would go back into the pen from where the came, in her bubble of blue. Her last thought was Silver really doesnt burn forever

This song is about a teenager that has come into adulthood a loner. Not having many friends in school he turned to the pencil and pen to fill the empty endless hours that he knew would never change. He dreamt of being one of the powerful mutant characters from his comic books, but a metal skinned hero from the planet' Zenn-La riding his silver clad surfboard was his favorite. Puberty blindsided him as it does most of us. And while all the other guys in the locker rooms bragged about getting their fingers wet after the school soc-hop in the gym, the young teenager imagined how lonely Silver Surfer must be here on this planet. He picked up a blue pen and touched the paper with hesitation. He considered a pencil but continued with the pen. He knew exactly how she should because he was the Silver Surfer. Of course she would be beautiful, and be covered with invincible silver that can withstand even the temperatures of the sun, just like his own. She arrived on planet Earth encased in a crystal cocoon that only he could release her from. She stepped up onto his board and she felt his hands from behind slip around her waist. As the silver board pointed it's way toward the stars he whispered, "What is your name?'" They call me Silverflame!" The surfer found that he no longer had control of his board as the flew closer to the sun. He tried to turn but in his mind he could hear her as she pressed hard bach against him. Oh God he was melting!"We will die Silverflame! " Come into me, don't be afraid, Silver will burn forever!" Their lips met as the remainder of his soul dissolved, the two had reached nuclear fusion and the two metal figures became one swirling twisting, writhing white hot ball of metal formed shining bright like the sun and twice as hot. As the molen entity entered the suns core the surfer knew his life was almost over, she had consumed him as she had hundreds, maybe thousands of others. Fusion was growing, releasing energy at an alarming rate, it was coming. The fear was gone. Silver-Surfer's last thought was it was better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved at all!
Silver flame stepped out of the sun and checked her hair in the palm of her hand, and realized just how long it has been since she had a cigarette.
The 27 year old teenager sat in the sleazy motel room watching his clock. Meeting acme comics is what he dreamed about all of his life. Adding silver flame to the storyline of Silver Surfer would change his life forever. He hung up the phone and noticed the blue ink swirling on his paper as the tears streamed down his face.

I lived in Denmark 🇩🇰 from 93’ - 95’ as a refugee from Bosnia 🇧🇦. I heard this song from my new Danish friends and fell in love with it. I was 13 when I came to Denmark. Then in September of 95 my family and I moved to United States 🇺🇸!!! I can say other than weather I really miss Denmark❤️

I was transferred from one hospital to another sick as hell while hearing this in their Ambulance. It was a profound experience.

I was 20 and in love the year this came out. It was a national anthem for almost two years, being played constantly on radio and in clubs.

The summer of 1994 was extremely hot (one of the hottest on record in Denmark) and I had met Lise at the local concert Dizzy Mizz Lizzy played. We didn't fall in love immediately, but it grew over the months. Perhaps we actually did fall in love, but just needed time to figure it out.

Anyways, I remember all the times we slow danced to this song in the clubs, how we shared headphones and listened to it, lying next to each other in the woods. It was an old portable CD-player with not much battery but to us it was heaven. The relationship didn't last, but the memories will and the memories are great!

I also remember all the private parties with my friends, screaming the lyrics to this song in unharmonyosly (not in harmony) into the night everytime one of us had our hearts broken - which is more often than not at that age, haha.

Lovely times - wish I could have them back, but that's not how life works, I guess... :-) <3

I efteråret 94 var vi en flok officerer og officerskandidater der sad i messen på Gurrehus og hørte dette album fra ende til anden og var enige om at det var episk. Og det er det stadig.

En af mine første cd'er jeg købte og som stadig har sin faste plads i mit hjem, lige det her nummer har en speciel plads i mit hjerte og har "reddet" mig igennem meget (Tusind Tak for det!!) - og stadig i dag er noget af det jeg husker, hvor fokuseret jeg var på at "lytte" til at de fingre skiftende strenge ;-) Just me..

Det her har været min ynglings sang siden jeg var helt lille. Kan huske der jeg hørte min bedste venindes storesøster synge den første gang, og har lige siden været helt vild med den. Fantastisk nummer.
