Imagine this:
A full orchestra, a drummer, singer , and an electric double bass attempt to play this.

I’m a senior citizen getting closer to the end of the ride, here. I began learning music theory when computers were in their infancy - taking up entire buildings - and now I can purchase one, smarter & faster that I can hold in one hand. I feel incredibly fortunate to have been able to live during 2 completely different centuries.
I sat in front of a device using cathode rays (the science of which still baffles me) eating Cheerios, watching military pilots take human dreams into outer space.
The result of which brought me a new century that allows me to grow even more deeply, broadening every aspect of my ability to learn at an exponential rate.
This means everything to me at this point of my life. YouTube, for example, has been such a powerful influence on my journey of music composition - so many new ways of interpreting what “music” can be. It was as important as the history of visual art movements over time…artists rebelling against accepted tropes - ever reaching for something new and powerful.
It was only a year ago when I first heard Mr.Stanford - I believe it was Automatica - (I’m always behind discovering these videos - long after everyone else has been aware of them), but I love the sonic arts (& while much art is also brought to bear making an accompanying video, it has always felt superfluous to the point of distraction. Take Lindsey [sp?] Sterling for example. She seems to be really well trained in modern dance (a joy to watch), but my favorite compositions of hers are quite able to stand on their own.
It’s a bit like bands normally using lyrics in a song, deciding to create instrumental pieces and I realized that instruments are the only way to offer the listener what words are incapable of expressing.
My apologies for arriving so late to the party. Continue the fight for me after I’m gone, young people! Without your contributions, I would be just like the rest of these dinosaurs my age. Stodgy, obdurate coprolites, threatened by anything new…
