Been wanting to play for about 7 years now, i have a very simple laptop setup (idk the specs). How well does star citizen run on geforce now? Im happy to play with the performance or ultimate as long as the game runs smoothly (for star citizen at least)

This was the most helpful, well structured and entertaining guide video I’ve found so far. Thanks so much for the tips!

That said I’d love to see a video on inventory management and on-foot gameplay. Just the fact that you have to scroll your mouse wheel to walk faster is so unintuitive that I had to look it up bc I didn’t even consider looking at the mouse’s keybinds for something like walking speed.

The inventory management is probably the most clunky and buggy thing I’ve encountered so far, which was a BIG problem when I was trying to stay alive in FPS encounters and loot things on a timer afterwards. There are multiple UIs, inconsistent functionality for things like equipping and moving items, and just otherwise unfun UX with the inventory stuff. Any tips in that regard would be very helpful I imagine.

On foot combat tips would also be awesome. The FPS gameplay isn’t gonna win any awards, but it is still pretty cool and so far fairly difficult, even with the braindead AI. Tips for things like use cases for armor, damage types etc. would again probably be very handy.

I’m trying to be patient after about a week. When it works it’s great, but the bugs, omg holy geezus. It’s mostly been a mess.

Lass den Sound weg, dann ist es super!

As a semi veteran looking at adding a few friends to the verse this is a very good high level overview of the game so far. A lot of new player guides seem to skip what is going to be acually important to new players, getting over the basic overflow of things when you first even load up.

@BadMoveSpaceCadet

Is it better to play the game in 2D before attempting to play in VR?

1
@trg1408

The tutorial glitched out on me, so I relogged, to come back to it gone. So what did I do next? Figured it out on my own. But now I'm kinda lost lol

@deathlytree434

Never buy more than the starter 45 package or an on sale option less than 60.i also use an Xbox controller to play mostly as well as a mouse for fine control but some extra keys are nice on the side of it

@alansouthwell2899

I play Elite Dangerous as a single-player game (Solo mode), so looks like this isn't for me.

@michaelmiller2356

Put in about 100hrs to this game, I had a bunch of ships that I bought with money made from asteroid mining, and I absolutely loved it. Then I lost everything to a reset and I cant get back into it. I'll play again when it's finished with wiping away progress

@HealingandHarm

So, the starter packs include the games and you cannot play starcitizen without one correct? they also come with a ship so wouldn't that be the best option? or is are the starter ships not good?
I'm looking to become a Salvager and Medic.

Anyone know a helpful discord community for star citizen?

Great video Thanks so much for the info, I was up in the air coming from ED but I am definitely going to give SC a go! \o7

@ohyeah2816

After 10 years I’m wondering if it’s worth joining an org I play at random times, for random amounts of time.

But I usually make a two or three million over about 6 weeks and I’m a Grand Admiral, that’s not a boast, more a psychological problem. 🙄

0
@Pixelthekid

First thing, don’t listen to shills like this clown. The game is trash.

@Luke915

I bought my Aurora way back before area 18 was in the game and I was never really able to put in enough time to really experience the game, so I ended up just occasionally revisiting the game from time to time.

Here in 4.6 though, it is definitely in its most playable state yet, They have basically eliminated server disconnects (rarely getting account time out errors) and even if you do disconnect you pick up right where you left off.

Missions still have their bugs here and there and can waste a lot of time when they don’t work but the fact that I can actually consistently complete them before they break compared to last year already makes the game so much better.

After all these years I’ve finally almost saved up my first million Auec and am so close to buying my first ship with in game currency. It’s the first time for me I’ve actually really been excited for how star citizen is going to continue to develop!

The Issue Council is the best resource on how to glitch / cheat in SC to this day. God bless

@goldrumble5736

did i need to watch this new player guide? No. did i watch it? yes
Definitely one of, if not, the best new player guide ive seen to SC. great job! really enjoy your content.

@bennnnnyy26

I'm not a new player but keep going away from the game n coming back, this is a great video for a refresher, thank you!

@jeremymahaffey2019

Hey Farrister, Marcoh_Ramius here, keep the great content coming :D

1
@CornFed76

sent this to my discord group. trying to dispel the opinion that the game is unplayable. I to have been playing a few hours a week for 3 to 4 years. I appreciate the quality of all of Farrister's content! Keep up the great work.

1
@billbaggins1688

Downloading the game for a free trial. Hoping to be able to play it in VR. Expecting frustrations! Yup. Not enough disk space. Most games tell you the size required and the disk space available to avoid this.

1
@Lettuceepray

ill be a vet someday thanks to you

@maximiulian2848

Which starter ship do you recommend kind sir!?

1
@SNARILS

A guide for new players:

Dont.

This game is hardly a game and doesn’t have real content.

It has fomo content and ship sales with ZERO exploration.

Things have been in ye game broken for years.

CIG doesn’t respect player time and only wants to get as much money from you as they can while you’re blind enough to give it.

Dont listen to these Cooked Content Creators who shill for this game just to stay on the good side of a shitty developer who goes out of their way to silence any critical opinions on the game of their direction.

Wait for the game to get 1.0 ( if ever) and then try it out.

@riculfriculfson7243

On the tutorial. Already have a server error just trying to quantum to Tressler!

0
@Adithyasimha9

it is free to play this week right?

1
@jhavondenton2850

I do not recommend the arrow, it's a good dog fighter for PVP, but with its lack of fire power, you may die to the enemies team mate, I would suggest saving for a hornet mk II, or a gladius, the Titan is also good for PvE, but the arrow requires skills and experience a new player wouldn't generally have

@asasdad1041

jetz bin ich das 3 mal gestorben weil ich idot das shiff im nirwana verlassen habe sehr realtisch aber verdammt schwer reinzukommen

@cmdrdisulfiram

Great video, but I'm afraid, at this point, nothing can prepare new players for what to expect when they log in... There are so many things that can happen that you need to know and nobody will tell you. Just a few days ago I was trying to jump to Pyro and it wasn't working. Someone in chat guessed I had upgraded my quantum drive, which removes your jump drive. Fixed that and I still couldn't jump. In the end, it turned out that my radar was off.

1
@ahmetcakalgoz

Noob question: I died while flying a ship or equipment or armor, weapon, anything purchased with real money. Are they lost forever, open to be looted by anybody, or is permanently in your inventory so there is no loss at all? What?

2
@YourBossHOLLK

as a new player this video was very helpful and not an hr long video

1
@AccidentalFriendlyFire

22:45 I would think mining ships are more specialized than salvage, since you need an additional ship beyond the mining ship to haul your cargo after refining, while the salvage ships do everything you need at once.

1
@frenziedgrunt

I have seen this game for years, and have just never taken the dive. That changes today good sir! Hahah

1
@GrimReaperOG1

I was wondering why he didn't mention the hotkeys for power on and requesting permission to take off cause there are default keys to use.

1
@JohnChrom

Playing freefly and don't know what to buy from sales. Salvation or Nomad, or maybe just buy Titan without discount?

1
@snaggletoof1927

Every now and then people need to be reminded that the cheapest starter pack is more than enough to get your foot in the game. Don't need to spend big bucks to play SC.

2
@CapnCrunchESO

Thank you for the video Thomas ❤
