A Complete Beginner's Guide To League of Legends

Played my first game a minute ago! A Teemo on the enemy team went 32 & 1, basically playing on a smurf just to wreck all the beginners! :D Had so much fun dying over and over again to someone who's much more knowledgeable than me & shouldn't be queing with beginners! The community is so great. On the real though, this is the kind of shit that would make beginners or people who are just starting to play, quit. I don't mind because I've played Smite before so I have a basic understanding of what was going on, but for people who have no idea at all, I can't imagine how frustrating and confusing it would be dying to a Teemo, sprinting around the map and zero to 1 hundred'ing them over and over.

My friend and his brother used to play it all the time while it was in beta and I would watch. I thought it looked boring til he threw me into a game and taught me the basics, been hooked since. Haven't gotten any better since though

4 years ago I just got out of class and there were a bunch of students hanging out in the corner on their computers. I knew one or two of them, one of them I've known for half my life, and I'm only 20. Little did I know they had a club in league of legends based at my community college. At the time my longtime friend was playing OverWatch and one of his friends comes up to me and asks "have you ever played league?" and I asked "what's league?" For the rest of the semester I played basically every day with these guys. I am still total trash.

This is literally harder than academics, WHY LOL😭😭

This is really well done. Over the years I have tried to get into playing LoL next to watching the LEC and Worlds but could never get past bot games because each "beginner" tutorial I checked used terminology I didn't know and would make the whole tutorial pretty much useless.

Just started playing around 2 weeks ago and everyone is so friendly and welcoming, this one person got mad at me for following him and threatened to report me, meanwhile we needed to stop the enemy team from destroying 2 of our turrets and that was the way we needed to go.

After reading all the comments below I must say that I feel lucky.
I was playing co-op vs ai mode when a player started giving me advices 'cause I was playing support. He/she then invited me to play with his friends (all pro ranked gold) and I sucked badly lol (I didn't even know how to place a ward), but they didn't get mad at me even after I apologized them for being so bad. So yeah, now I'm here willing to learn more

I've been contemplating whether I should install this game but a Run BTS episode with T1 members really pushed me to do it so here I am.

bts just announced theyre playing this tommorow in the next run episode with faker, teddy, canna, cuzz, and effort, and im here so i can watch that without being heavily confused on whats going on

The community was so fun and nice. When I played in Summoner's Rift and someone told me to get items, I had no clue how to buy them and so I asked fearing I would get a rude answer but instead I got a friendly step-by-step answer that helped me a lot :).

as a newbie, it feels so weird walking with a *mouse*. when i instinctively press wasd i just waste my skills and i get smashed

This community is wonderful! My friend started playing a while ago and our Caitlyn who was definitely a smurf told her to kill herself completely ignoring that she was level 3 💖

This guide is all over the place. Explaining the map and then jumping right to the differences between the dragons is just wtf! If I need the map explained I don't give a crap about that. It would help to explain the other stuff like levelling up etc.

I played my second actual game today. Everyone was pissed I kept dying. They kept telling me to buy items and I had no idea so this guy had to walk be back to spawn and explain it all 😂 I was scared they were gonna atatck me for being a newbie but honestly they were quite helpful lol

Honestly I at first had no idea what bot was and assumed that the chat was insulting someone and calling them a robot before every game that I play.

This community is so sweet. As a beginner with boatloads of anxiety, the reassuring shouting and cussing me out honestly makes me feel more alive than ever while simultaneously making me wish I wasn't. <3

For actual newbies (I'm still kinda newbie myself) I suggest playing ARAM games first to get the hang of items, champions, and general play. Much smaller map and beginner friendly. Just remember to NOT charge into an enemy team without your team! You will die and they will get stronger.

My first game I absolutely sucked, one of my teammates kept going off at me. Second game he was on the opposite team and I managed to kill him, never felt happier 😍

First game in league against bots and going bottom lane, die so many times to the bots that a teammate told the others to report me for feeding the bots, good times.

I have no idea what he's talking about but still listening cause why not.

Just starting playing a few weeks ago. So far I've gotten reported for throwing, threats to be kidnapped, raped or killed. Multiple KYS messages and been called a fortnite Freddy 1 too many times. This community is so amazing.

I remember seeing these comments and thinking there’s no way the community was that bad. Went in not knowing any League terms and you can imagine how that went. On my second game I still wasn’t sure what I was doing and got told I had Asperger’s. 😌✨

My friend loves this game and none of her other friends wanna play with her so I'm trying to learn for her lol.

Well after reading about the community:
I think i am not gonna start this game.

I love how he s talkin about turrets for like 10 minutes

First game I ever played I had 12 kills, felt pretty damn good. Then my second game there was a smurf and he killed me 18 times and I finished with 0 kills.

The community is super nice!
If gotten lots of advice, such as "uninstall the game you bot"
