Had to pause just to let ppl know... there's no magical service that actually lowers latency. Your ping is the time it takes the signal to go from your pc to the game server. In this day and age, that limitation is entirely physical. Connecting to a vpn that's physically closer can lower the number displayed on the screen but does not lower the real latency.. signal still has to travel all the way, with a vpn it's actually worse bc it's 1 extra stop the signal makes.

You missed some big things. For example. When peaking from cover, how close you stand to the cover also determines how soon they see you. Your character model isn't a straight line up and down, or your camera, it's a character with shoulders, and you can give your enemy the advantage of seeing you before you see them by swinging close. By swinging further back from cover, you reduce the amount of time they see your shoulders/arms before your camera actually makes it past the cover. This is generally a safer way to clear a room from a doorway as well, since as you "slice the pie" (look that up, it's useful) you expose a smaller target by being further from the door, AND you slow down how quickly you see more of the room since you have to walk further from side to side to see the whole room. Also, what you're calling swinging wide v narrow is confusing, because swinging wide in every situation I'm familiar with refers to over extending from cover so enemies aiming closer to your cover have to reset their aim, since they are probably aiming closer to the corner, expecting you to swing close, meaning their crosshairs are positioned closer to the line of cover. By crossing beyond where they're aiming means you're not where they're aiming at, and can give you a fraction of a second advantage, since you are aiming where they actually are, having planned to step out that far. Hopefully this all made sense, it helps a lot to have a visual.
