Bryan Adams - Summer Of 69 (Official Music Video)
▶ YOUTUBE
The "69" reference is often thought to be about the year, but it's not about the year!
It's about teen nostalgia, playing in a band and reflecting back on love in the summertime .

I got my first real six-string
Bought it at the five-and-dime
Played it til my fingers bled
It was the summer of 69
Me and some guys from school
Had a band and we tried real hard
Jimmy quit and Jody got married
I shoulda known we'd never get far
Oh when i look back now - that summer seemed to last forever
And if i had the choice - ya - I'd always wanna be there
Those were the best days of my life
Ain't no use in complainin'
When you got a job to do
Spent my evenin's down at the drive-in
And that's when i met you
Standin' on your mama's porch - you told me that you'd wait forever
Oh and when you held my hand - i knew that it was now or never
Those were the best days of my life - back in the summer of '69
Man we were killin' time - we were young and restless
We needed to unwind - i guess nothin' can last forever
And now the times are changin'
Look at everything that's come and gone
Sometimes when i play that old six-string
I think about ya wonder what went wrong
Standin' on your mama's porch - you told me it would last forever
Oh the way you held my hand - i knew that it was now or never
Those were the best days of my life - back in the summer of '69
Ya - me and my baby in a 69

12Weird. I was born in ‘73. I’ve heard this song thousands of times over the years. But I’ve never seen this music video.
3Miss the time when comment sections weren't freaking calendars
6Who still watching in 2026
70I still love this song. It's best in the summer time when you're driving in the middle of nowhere with the windows down the volume up and feeling like you're a teenager again.
27Life is short, my friends. Enjoy the moments and cherish the memories.

353who is watching like me in Feb 2026... Crazy how Bryan Adams doesn’t just sing the song — he takes us back to the moment our lives felt simple, wild, and full of firsts. Some artists perform. Bryan time-travels! Every time he sings this live, you can feel the entire world remembering their own Summer of ’69. That’s real music.
53Played this onstage with Bryan at Wembley in April 1997. That was the best night of my life…….
36Anyone 2026❤️

68It was 1984. Bryan Adams was thinking of the Summer of 1969. And here I am, listening in the Summer of 2022. Now I’m also missing of the Summer of 69. ☺️
35“I knew that it was now or never” always chokes me up. Some of you will understand, and the rest of you… well, you’ll wish you did.
151First heard this song in 1987... sitting on my motorcycle, on a hill over-looking an amazing beach in Thailand... I could not believe what I was hearing... THIS WAS MY SONG! Had a rock band in the late sixties... and a beautiful girlfriend to sing to... and yes those were the best days of MY life! ... I'm 71, still playing my guitar -and STILL rockin' to this song. Yea! Thank you Bryan!!!
49One of my favorite songs of ALL TIME!!!! I've probably heard it a thousand times but never get tired of it!
490Bryan Adams is the type of dude who sounds exactly how he looks.

120people from 2020s: Ah, the good ol' 80s
597people from 1980s: Ah, the good ol' 60s
My dad was born in the summer of 69. When he heard this song saying he said "Summer of 69' A Legend was born!" 🤣🤣🤣
41Guys, when I was like 16 years old, my friends and I played this at a "school band contest". Despite it was only a school band, we went heavy on this one and suddendly everyone turned crazy, because the song is such fire. We later got asked for autographs. I was like wtf, it´s just a cover and we are only a school band. What I wanna say is, this song is not a normal song. This song has something in it, that makes everyone happy. And that´s what we all love about music :)
